Social worker Michael Light’s homelessness work featured in Seattle Times

Social worker Michael Light, left, says the team tries to learn patients’ goals, fears, motivations and sources of strength

Michael Light, 2012 Bonderman Fellow, “…is part of a specialized three-person, part-time team at Harborview assigned to help homeless patients manage their stress and symptoms, navigate the medical and homelessness systems and, if needed, plan for the end of their lives.” This work is highlighted in this Seattle Time’s article about Rahima Jackson.

“She didn’t want to die homeless. But in Seattle, there were few places to turn.”
